Five things you should know… before you Botox!

Botox in recent years, reel or real, has become increasingly popular. Thanks to its magically abilities of reversing the age clock. Botox, the drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum, has been long diagnosed to treat Facial wrinkles, Cervical dystonia, Blespharospasm and Strabismus to name a few.

Shockingly however in the minds of a few, Botox still remains a dreaded word. Is it safe? Is it bloody? Is it worth it?

Here are five things that you might want to know about Botox, before you can assure yourself one.

There is no pain in Botox, and even if there is, most people don’t feel too much. The needles are small and designed to be as painless as possible. Well, if you could sit through a torturous session at your dentists’, Botox is no big deal!

Whoever told you that Botox removes wrinkles permanently, has clearly been playing with your head. Unfortunately, no matter how young you start Botox injections, it will not prevent wrinkles from naturally occurring in the future. Save up and try Microdermabrasion instead.

If you are about to pop a baby, a Botox should be the last thing on your mind. Also, people with infections should postpone treatment until the infection is resolved. Furthermore, there is a greatly increased risk of serious side effects in patients with any pre-existing neuromuscular disorder.

Feel at ease during the treatment. Botox is usually injected directly into the muscle using a very small needle. Your surgeon may ask you to make certain faces in order to contract the muscles in the treatment area, and not because he wants you to make a complete fool out of yourself. This enables him or her to determine the precise locations where the injections should be placed. Most treatments require multiple injections.

Lastly, you may not even need a Botox if you can find the right anti-ageing cream!

  1. There are all kinds on information related to botox. A lot of misconceptions, which diminish the benefits this medical wonder has to offer to patients around the world. A friend of mine had a botox Ottawa treatments for her wrinkles and she was very satisfied with the results. Of course there are risks, but the specialists performing the treatment do their job and inform their patients on everything.
