Being a New mother is like being on constant war with yourself, guilt
feeling, work balance and home, and it gets nastier at times. Sometimes
you over scheduled, over worked, balancing a delicate balance between
parenting and maintain a demanding carrier, leading to un resoluble
confusion. Its never been easy but its not alighted impossible either.
Establish a Routine
Groundwork is necessary for reliable family routine which starts from very early in the morning. It would require greatly to change your own habits, but also every member of the family to be part of this new adjustment, so that it doesn’t takes toll on you from the beginning. Once you have successfully established a better work routine for the family or the way household runs, you could easily manage sometime together.
Understand the Power of “Me” Time
At times you might feel overworked and totally sleep deprived, the notion of getting up early and staying late is something we all arnt comfortable with. To prepare yourself, you could carve out few minute of time each day by 10 or 15 minutes. It will recharge your internal batteries and prepare you for upcoming tasks without being forced to take care of something unexpected.
Encourage Independence
From the begingin help the child take charge of as much they can of their morning routine as reasonalbly possible, it will free up bit of time to attend their own needs. In the mean time it will encourage indiependece & self reliance at the young age. But I would recommend not rush the kids not appropriate for the age.
The Caregiver Conundrum
Unless you have really faithful caregiver, there is every chance you would end up struggling with the everyday tasks and your mind wondering between the other tasks. Finding the perfect nanny is overwhelming as well as time consuming task too. it will eventually pay off once you confident and she could manage everything on her own.
At times you might be willing to take more than you could handle and compromise on few things while balancing your professional life as well as running a household. And sometime it becomes depressing to the level of guilt, specially the mommy guilt, you would try to overcome by overdoing few things. But sometimes its okay to say now and let someone else take the reins for a while and take some break, delegate tasks and entrust them so that you could relieve some stress..
